Come join an extravaganza of music, face painting, cake walks, a best beard contest (creative ingenuity encouraged) and food catered by Yummi Cafe at Smokey Joe’s Birthday Blast on Friday, October 5th.
Doors open at the Town Center at 5:30, singer-songwriter Utah Green starts the evening’s music at 5:55, followed by the band Shantytown at 6:30. Then Smokey Joe and the South Toe Syndicate, with special guest Howie Johnson, take the stage from 7:20 until 9 pm. The evening closes with the band Redline playing from 9:15 until 11 pm.
Tickets for the entire evening are available at Maples Coffee Shop in Micaville, Yancey Graphics and the Burnsville Town Center, and can also be purchased online at BrownPaperTickets.com. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
The public is welcome. Part of the proceeds from this celebration will support the production of Smokey Joe’s new CD Half Way to Heaven.
Smokey Joe has been a singer-songwriter for over 34 years with performances throughout the Southeast. He performs individually and with other talented musicians with a voice that is both warm and intense and lyrics that tell stories that are both personal and universal.
Smokey Joe and the South Toe Syndicate is an eclectic Country Americana band. The band performs Smokey Joe's constantly expanding original music and a selection of cover songs that pull the audience into the moment.
